1. How many hours do I need to train?


Not as many as you think.
You’re looking at 4 structured cycling sessions per week, averaging about 7 hours total. Add in one short strength session and you’re set.


2. Do I have to give up certain foods?


Nope.
We focus on fueling smarter, not restriction. You’ll still enjoy the foods you like while learning how to balance them to support weight loss and performance.


3. Can I do the weight training at home?


Yes.
We start with simple bodyweight sessions. No fancy equipment, no gym required.


4. Do I need Zwift?


Not at all.
You can do the training outside, on another platform, or even with MyWhoosh (a free alternative). If you’ve got a Garmin, you can sync the workouts and ride outdoors easily.


5. What if I do like Zwift?

Perfect.
We run weekly community rides there with the “elastic band” setting switched on. That means nobody gets dropped, no matter your fitness level—we all ride together, at the same pace, start to finish. You’ll also get live access to me and the rest of the group in Discord.


Don’t have Zwift? No problem—you can still ride along on another platform and join the chat.

Our Zwift sessions are run every Tuesday at 7:30 pm UK time.


6. How much weight can I expect to lose?


Most riders drop between 4–6 kg in 12 weeks, while also gaining strength and fitness. Some lose more, some a little less—it depends on your starting point and consistency—but those numbers are typical for the program.


7. What if I’m not fit enough yet?


That’s exactly who this is built for.
The plan meets you where you are, and progression is baked in. Most riders also see a 20–50 watt bump in FTP over the 8 weeks.


8. What if I struggle with accountability?


You’re not alone.
The Cycle Lean Project gives you structure, a clear plan, and access to a supportive community. But yes—the discipline still comes down to you. That’s why I keep things simple and doable.
