In today’s newsletter, I wanted to give you a little bit more insight into what it’s like being a member within the CycleLean Collective.

So inside Cycle Lean, we take a smarter approach to training, fuelling, and staying consistent—without needing 15+ hours a week or some ultra-restrictive diet.
Onboarding: Your plan, your goals, your lifestyle

If you join as an Advanced Rider, we kick things off with a 1:1 onboarding call.
This isn’t a “fill out a form and get a cookie-cutter plan” situation. We get on a call and talk through:
- What you are training for
- What your current riding looks like
- What’s holding you back (fatigue? work stress? time?)
- What goals you’d love to hit—whether it’s an FTP target, a weight goal, or just feeling good again
From there, I build a bespoke plan that fits your life and prioritises quality over quantity.
We’re not chasing more hours—we’re chasing smarter sessions, proper fuelling, better recovery, and real consistency.
Bloodwork that tells the full story

For UK riders on the Advanced or Mentorship plans, we go deeper with your health.
We send a nurse to your home to take a full blood panel, so we can check:
- Your full lipid profile (heart health markers)
- Diabetes risk markers
- Inflammation levels (C-reactive protein)
For Mentorship clients, we expand that into a full panel that includes vitamin D, B12, liver and kidney function, and iron levels—because knowing what’s going on inside helps us train more effectively on the outside.
And this isn’t guesswork. I’ve delivered over 30,000 health assessments to businesses across the UK and Ireland, and I’ve got over a decade of experience working in health and performance.
But here’s the key part: once your results come in, I don’t just leave you to figure it out on your own. I’ll walk you through a deep dive into your results, explain what they mean in plain English, and give you clear guidance and support so you know exactly what to do next.
Whether it’s adjusting your training, tweaking your diet, or speaking to your GP—we’ll create a plan that empowers you to take action with confidence.
Bi-weekly coaching: Adjust, adapt, improve

Training after 40 isn’t just about doing more. It’s about knowing when to push and when to pull back.

Eat to ride, not just survive

Both the Essential and Advanced Rider programs include full nutrition support:
- A personalised fuelling calculator to help you hit your carb and protein targets
- The Eat to Ride Guide so you know exactly what to eat before, during, and after your rides
- Nutrition workshops so you can build better habits without overhauling your life
Advanced riders also get weekly feedback on their food logs (if they want it), helping dial in fuelling without fad diets or cutting carbs to zero.
